Have I?

Have I borne the name of Jesus
Have I suffered in Your name.
Have I carried the cross before you
As You carry the cross for me.

Have I cared for the unlovely
Have I fed the hungry of heart.
Have I given myself to love them
As You care each day for me.

Have I seen the needs around me
Have I opened my eyes to see.
Have I seen them through Your eyes
As You see the need in me.

Have I loved my brother and sister
Have I loved them from the heart.
Have I forgiven them of their failings
As Your Love has forgiven me.

For Love comes not from compulsion,
From the deeds I feel compelled.
Love comes from Your compassion
As Your love is seen through me.
