Before I knew You,
Your love reached out to me.
Before I knew You,
You waited patiently.
For me to see my need,
To trust You with my life.
Before I knew You,
My life was so empty
–chorus 1—————-

Before I knew You,
My heart was filled with sin.
Before I knew You,
You chose to take me in.
I’m a sinner saved by grace.
I trust You with my life.
Now I know You,
You changed my heart today.
–chorus 2 —————-

Now I know You,
You came into my life.
Now I know You,
You took away the strife.
There was no peace of mind
You knew my sorry life.
Now I know You,
Your gave me peace within.
–chorus 1 —————-

Now I know You,
You have given life to me.
Now I know You,
Your blood has redeemed me.
Forever I’m set free,
To do Your will in me.
Now I know You,
Your love has transformed me.
–chorus 2———–
———————————–
(chorus 1)
Then You found me kneeling there,
Calling Your name in my despair.
You picked me up and held me tight,
Your touch, Your voice,
I saw the light.
Darkness was gone from my soul
Your grace, Your love,
Has made me whole.
————————-
(chorus 2)
Now You find me kneeling here,
I call Your name I find so dear.
You pick me up and hold me tight,
Your touch, Your voice,
You are the light.
Darkness has gone from my soul
Your grace, Your love,
Has made me whole.

Very good poem out of your religious beliefs.
I certainly related to your experiences with your daughter. Those things make it tough sometimes.

    John,

You have written some very powerful religious pieces, perhaps you should combine them together in a book of life before, during and after traveling the path. Thanks for sharing this was lovely as well.

John, this is a poem of true faith. Sometimes it’s too dark, but we have to learn to stretch our hands and open our soul to touch the Light. Then, hope and strength stay within. Thanks for sharing. :)

you knew him from your birth, and will be with you till you leave this earth.
and when you was in despair , he was there to wipe away your tears.

Oh wow, this is wonderful. I’m going to try and make a song out of this for (non-profit, just personal music), if you don’t mind :)

I sang it maybe two times. I would like to hear it. I only hear one melody. It would be interesting to see what you find for it.

writing can indeed be cathartic, John — good for you for expressing yourself through it and to have that much Faith in God is a wonderful way to deal with the trials in our lives— keep on writing and keep the faith, John– you are very admirable! :)

    He set me free
to do His will in me.

It is what I live by. Thanks raen
